I remember her as Rebecca Irwin, of "The Weather Channel", then later as weather babe at channel 2, or 5, in Atlanta, GA. We both moved to Dallas in the late 80's. Was glad to see a part of home here in Dallas. Sad to see her go.

Thank yee Bubba... It's always interesting to see the faces move between ATL, and DFW. I did a couple years down in Tampa Bay between 2003 and 2005, and the first day while unpacking I saw a Dallas lady doing the weather. I'll have to look up her name, but I believe it is Ann, or Anna something....

I still haven't watched a single channel 5 news broadcast since Black Wednesday (or whatever day it was).

This from someone who pretty much exclusively watched channel 5 news for many, many years.

Not that anyone cares, but it feels good to say it.

keep it up Rusty,

I will admit I have watched a bit of the 4PM news a times, but still think they let a good one go.

Over on Ed Bark I read where Julie might leave Channel 11 in the mornings and head back to the East Coast. Might be an opening there.

I went over there, and WOW look at the changes going on in DFW television.

What's happening to Fox 4?  4 people leaving in a month? Considering the people,

is this a good thing?

P.S.

I am going to miss Jeff and Paul's hair.

Is it just me, but does Channel 8 have more reporters that only last about a week or so and disappear? It seems like a revolving door over there.

You're likely to see more changes this time of year.   People with kids want to move during the summer rather than during the school year.   Plus, it's about 100 days before the next big ratings period, giving stations a chance to get people in place for the November sweeps.

Channel eight has changes like all stations.   You need new, fresh blood pushing others to excel.  People leave for different reasons.   Some are fired.   Some move on to anchor opportuinities elsewhere while a guy like Bob Greene, for example, just left to return to law school.

But they've also had reporters like Brad Watson, Byron Harris, Brett Shipp, Rebecca Lopez, Janet St. James and Gary Reeves doing excellent work for years.    Guys like Steve Stoler and Jim Douglas have been in this market for a long time but came to WFAA in recent years.
