My son is upset because he HAD to go to Key West, FL today to be in a "destination wedding" instead of being here seing the new Batman movie the minute it opens!

(sigh)....kids.....

But yes, he'll see it as soon as he can, I will see it in the next week or so too.  I heard Gary Cogill's interview on WBAP this morning, and he was going wild over it!

BTW, anybody besides me seeing Mamma Mia this weekend?   Gary also reviewed it...he said he only pulled the little imaginary trigger at his temple a dozen times.

No plans for Batman. However, I predict the person who is now dead (played the joker) will get a posthumas Oscar....just for sympathy vote if no other reason.

Girlfriends are hot to see Momma Mia. We saw the preview at our last outing. The premise was repulsive to me...and I don't like musicals...We are scheduled to do lunch and movie on Monday. I'm still debating whether I will beg off on the movie but enjoy the lunch and talk.

The princess and her boyfriend went with a big group of buddies to see it at midnight...as she was snoozing when I left for work, I don't have a report, but I know she was looking forward to it for a long time.

Batman is not dark. It's blacker than Darth Vader's spit. Holy Moly that thing will rock you. Whether it's good or not; I don't know. The theatre full I came out with wasn't smiling -- not because it was bad at all (My opinion? Terrific.) it was jarring. We'd just had a serious cinema whoopin'. Some truly incredible stuff.

DO NOT take small children.

Ledger probably deserves an Oscar. And he bloody well could have gone mad creating that Joker. My god what a role!! Sheesh!!! The Joker made Batman look like a 'junior.'

Run, don't wall, and see it before people start talking about it!!!

Of course. I have always been a batman fan...started with the adam west variety in the old tv show. which, by the way, i think had thecoolest batmobile.

I haven't made plans, but I would like to see it. My son has tickets for IMAX showing tomorrow night... he's really looking forward to it.

I'd also like to see Mama Mia.. it sounds like a fun movie.

We're going tomorrow afternoon....can't wait!

I also want to go see Mama Mia with females...dont' think my guys could handle it!

We saw Hellboy II today.....better than #1. Lots of funny stuff in this one, better character building, good story.

Hellboy II was super good ... I agree. Liked it much better than Hancock which, overall, was disappointing.

I thought Hancock would take a so called hero story arc similar to Lee Marvin's astounding performance in Cat Ballou.

I'm glad I went to see Hancock and thought parts of it were really good ... but 10 years from now I won't remember Hancock ... I figure I'll still remember Kid Shelleen!!!

I just read Cogill's review of Batman. I think he's right on target.

All the other movie badmen should move in an orderly procession to the back of the bus.

Edited to ask: Is the Dark Knight the best Batman movie ever???

Ledger did an awesome job.  I could almost have pictured Jack Nicholson playing the role the same way.  He really was that good.

That being said, I am in the minority, I thought the movie was okay.  Mary loved it.  I think what bothered me is it being basically the 2nd Batman movie chronologically, however there have been 5 or so before it.  I just am not a fan of that.
