Obama did not pick Germany as his venue for a rally Thursday because he wanted to change German perceptions about America. He picked it because the pro-Obama mania was already in place and the polls were sympathetic to him.
Why will they cheer? Because they see a less influential America coming with an Obama presidency. They see bigger government, fewer personal freedoms and a lower standard of living — in short, Americans a lot more European. For them, Obama's rise means, at long last, an end to those dreaded SUVs.
The jealousy is palpable.

Obama can be president of Germany.
Not so sure he can be President of USA

The significant news coverage Barack Obama is receiving on his foreign trip has not translated into a bounce in his numbers, a just-released FOX News poll shows. Obama now holds the slimmest possible edge over John McCain, leading by just 41 percent - 40 percent in a head-to-head contest. In fact, Obama’s support is down slightly from his 45 percent - 41 percent advantage last month.

I know we kid each other outrageously here and often bust heads and chops.

I intend no antagonism when I say that the US has lost an incredible amount of good will in the world for very good (or really bad) reasons. We have been arrogant, unruly and whiny. On top of that we've absolutely refused to see the universal problems and issues from a peer point of view. We act as if we don't give a damn about the air, the sea or the land -- and we have no inclination I can see to struggle together to resolve the world's problems.

If I was a German, I'd scream out ELMER FUDD if I thought he could make a difference and, lord knows, he can't possibly be as bad as we (and the world) have had for the last seven years.

I'm a proud American, but I am also an ashamed American. We have misbehaved in the worst ways. We should have our ass kicked. And hard. If the Germans believe Obama has a prayer of making a difference, then God Bless Him.

I mean no disrespect in the sense the Dixie Chicks and others have been accused of, but I'm tellin' ya ... the world will be patient with our Ass rather shorter than longer.

It's their air, land and sea too.

OK, how do you see the US regaining a place of honor and dignity today?

That would certainly be one aspect of it.  O'Bama will drag the US down economically and morally.  Nothing to be jealous of anymore.

Standing up for principles is not ever going to be popular with people who don't value them.

It should not be our goal to regain a place of honor among people who don't share them as it will mean we have lost them.

Freedom is an impossible sell on the left

It is Germany, France, and Belgium who need to regain a place of honor with us.   They did not hold up their end and should be ashamed, right along with the left in America, who have no honor.

You might as well be asking, what can I do today to make the devil happy?

Tony Blair and Bush were completly wrong.  Tony said if your heart is in the right place, and your spirit is true, they will follow.   They not only didn't follow they beat us over the head with a brick bat.  That is the extent to which the world you want to please so much has become perverse.

We are very fastly approaching the end of this cartoon.  That's all folks, is not going to be funny.

Your failing to recognize how good becomes bad and bad becomes good.   Your asking how do we please people who think good is bad.  The answer is, you don't, not unless you want to opperate under the same dilusions that they do.

Revert back to what made us great We have the blueprint, the Constitution! Learn it, love, live it! Give back Americans their money and encourage them to excell in whatever field they choose! Get out of imperial endevors. A little bit of isolationism is a good thing! It's what the Libertarians have been call for, for some time!

That would make them hate us even more. It is not our actions that they do not like. It is the principles behind them.

Those principles are why Mrs O'Bama said she has never been proud of America before.  She doesn't share them. She in fact hates them.

You won't to please Europe, throw them in the trash.

There is more going on than meets the eye.  The center of the universe is Israel.

Not what I mean. What are you proposing we do for having broken the peace and mucked with the world?

But it's interesting that you call for a return to the blueprint -- I'd call it a manual of liberty -- we have left it behind.

Before we can expect the world's respect, we must have respect for ourselves, our nation, our laws and the morals that made the History of America great.  We have to stop all of the illegalities in our nation.  We need to make sure American is right with itself and forget trying to please the rest of the world.  We must get back to the principles which made us the envy of the world, but we must also be respectful to the world.  We probably should tell the rest of the world to "take a flying leap" :snoopy:and clean our own house!  We not only need to clean, we need to remodel!
