Hamilton crushed a HR the other way a few minutes ago, and its 6-3 Texas going to the 6th.

Interesting listening to the Oakland broadcast on XM. The Rangers are beginning to garner a bit of respect from other places..

<except mebbe from Vince Cotronio, ex partner of Mr Nadel)...... and even he is grudgingly respectful...

Aren't those voice-activated mics on the Rangers broadcasts annoying?

XM cleans up the Rangers broadcasts a bit, but with my crappy KRLD reception the increase in crowd volume when the announcer pauses for breath really irritates me.

(When I get control of that station . . .)

Regarding Davis, does it bother you that Josh calls him "Crush"? Reading an Evan Grant story, he criticized Josh for giving him a nickname. Said all nicknames should come from in the clubhouse. Me personally, I think Evan must have thought it was a slow news day.

What a twat. Plenty of great nicknames have come from sportswriters. It doesn't matter where the name comes from; if it's a good name, it will stick. If it's not, it probably won't.

Like "The Human Rain Delay" - great nickname; came from Bob Uecker

Evan is my favorite Ranger writer, but I'm going to disagree with him on this one.  If Josh wants to try to put a nickname on Davis, that's up to him.  As long as it isn't demeaning I don't have a problem, announcers do this all the time.   His team and the public will decide if it sticks or not.

Lance Berkman in Houston hated the nickname Fat Elvis... at a press conference one day recently,, he said.. I'm an agile, sleek athlete, more like a Puma. Sportswriters burst out laughing, and one said.. yeah, you're the Big Puma, aintcha? Berkman laughed and said, Yeah, I guess I am.. and it stuck...
