I don't know why, but today I took a good look at the people around me, and what i saw was a sorry lot of terribly dressed people.  I guess I just haven't paid much attention, but when I started to look at the people around me, I saw a lot of people who no longer care about what they look like.

I saw a grandma in a mini skirt and a tube top.  She didnt' have the body for this one for sure.

I saw a 450 lb man with baggy shorts and a tank top, and not much was left to the imagination.  The tank top didn't reach the top of the pants.  YEEEEWhttp://WWW.

I saw young girls in cut offs and some type of T shirts and rubber flip flops and every thing needed to be washed really bad.

Greasy hair, unshaved men, dirty clothes, untied shoes with the laces dragging, pants hanging below this kids butt, and a mother with a WAYYYY TOOOO TIGHT blouse so there were gaps in the front, and no bra.

an old man in one of those carts with shorts on and the "boys" were looking around the store.

I saw a lot of flesh today and the flesh I saw should have remained in seclusion.

and on and on and on

I am not any where near perfect, but when I go out, I try to at least be clean and not some what neat.   I care about what I look like in public.  I carry a brush or a comb in my car and will at least check my hair before I go inside ( I wear a hat and hate hat hair)

any way I just came to the conclusion that we as americans have given up caring about what we look like on a daily basis.  At work is some thing else, but running around we just don't seem to care any more.  What a shame.

Have you seen this too?

What a sad commentary on our society! I suppose the best thing we could do is to influence those we can in a positive way.

I guess I don't get out much, I have seen some pretty sorry sights while shopping, but not nearly as bad as you describe.

I do not leave the house if I am not at least presentable in a mug shot.

I've seen all that Cliff. I think you may have gotten lost and found yourself at Hopper's family reunion.

On the other hand, thank God we no longer have to put on a coat and tie to go to the grocery store.

Or a baseball game.

It is a sad state of affairs. I too notice this sort of thing and wonder to myself...did they even look at themselves in a mirror before they left??!
Styles and times do change but sheer sloppiness and uncleanliness is another thing.
Sometimes I want to go up to these people and say "do you realize what you look like?"
And yes, if you are 300 lbs...sorry, you can't wear what a 100lb teenager wears.

I remember when you got dressed up to go anywhere. In the 50's you didn't hardly ever see a man that was not in a suit and tie, in down town Dallas.

Last week in Down town Dallas, I saw a guy walking with his pants falling off. He was holding them up with one hand while the other was down the front of his pants.

No respect for himself or anyone else, is all I can say.
