I have seen this charge again and again. Two quick points:
1. Do you really believe that once the Tea Party believed it was more than a flash in the pan (and now a real force in politics) that it would not gain backers with deep pockets? And even with those deep pockets, can you point to a "leader" of the tea party? Nope, its still decentralized. It makes it REALLY hard to "control" all those different groups (even harder when the Tea Party Federation kicked the Tea Party Express out... or something like that).
2. How are they any different than George Soros? If the Koch's mean that the Tea Party should be written off, why then should we take Soros-backed entities seriously?

I suppose you can make anything fit the way you want to ... I wasn't trying to be critical.. from looking at it.. the Tea Party almost seems to weaken the republican thrust in November... imho, anyway...
