Little old lady comes over and asks if I can:
Drive to two locations
Load up a house full of furniture
Load up a storage unit full of things
Take them back to my house
And hold a garage sale for her Saturday
Then store her things that don't sell in my garage.
And my wonderfull wife tears out of there in her Jeep (laughing) leaving me with this poor old lady.
Never a dull moment at the Ryan Casa.

She is a sweetheart of a lady. She comes everyday to bring her husband dinner.

Is this old lady wandering out of the nursing home? Do they know about it?
For better or worse, a nursing home is not a prison, so there is always the possibility a resident can wander out. They try to keep watch, but you know how it is.
A well-designed building has the hallways in circles. No dead ends. So the elderly who wander (and I encourage walking), will tend to walk the halls in circles.
No dead end alleys, or the poor old-timers end up like that marching band in "Animal House".
I'm just saying that because, all too often, that old person who wanders off, is found dead in the woods somewhere, a few weeks later.
I had a great-grandmother who lived to be 99, just shy of a century. She always wandered off. Like clockwork, she ended up at the front door of a house a couple miles away. She lived in that house, some time in the 1930's. Great-grandmother didn't speak English. Fortunately, neither did the current resident of that house. The family would escort her back, speaking the same language, fortunately.
Sometimes I'd be part of the rescue crew.
So she'd walk up to me, look up at me, and say in her native tongue....."who is this (meaning me)?"
"Maria's boy"
"Oh, so big........"
Five minutes later, back up, looking at me who's this, Maria's boy, so big........She was good for about three of those.

This is a nursing/assisted living/therapy type place.
She comes daily to visit her husband.
They had a really neat outdoor charity event last week. They were raising money for TV's, games, etc.
I offered to smoke some briskets and "sell" (i.e. take donations) the food at the next one.

My grandmother lived at one of the newer assisted living places in Athens...can't remember the name (uh oh). She also lived at West Place in Athens.

It seems to follow me. They put up a really nice one next to my Carrollton office. The place looks really nice.
