This is coming from a person who's idea of roughing it is staying at La Quinta, but yes, I would say that there is a need for an RV. I stayed in one just like the above pictured, and it was extremely comfortable. I would think there wouldn't be a "need" necessarily unless you've got an in-law or out-law you want to keep in storage...

I've had an RV for 17 years and it's great for the following reasons:
1. You sleep in your own comfortable bed.
2. You don't have to pack/unpack and live out of a suitcase.
3. You can stop and rest anywhere you want. Tired? Take a comfy nap. You pickup and go when YOU want.
4. Food/drink always cold/hot.
5. THE BATHROOM IS ALWAYS CLOSE. No need to "hold it" till you get to a dirty/cold/hot rest stop or wait in line at McDonalds or try to wedge in past the mop and bucket at the 7-11.
6. You can bring lots of your "stuff" with ya.
7. When it's parked at home, it's a guest house for folks to feel comfortable and have some privacy when they want.

10. You can wake up in the morning and feed deer out the camper door.
