Quick question......
Are Jon Stewart and Steven Corbert and Comedy Central ACTUALLY RUNNING CANDIDATES FOR OFFICE?
OR?
Was this a self-gratiating expression of self-promotion for their TV show(s)?
I'm thinkin' the later.......
And?..... When ya post an "open invitation" out on television?
Ya just NEVER KNOW whut kinda kooks are gunna show up......

It Was a self-gratiating expression of self-promotion for their TV show(s)and an attempt to reinvigorate the left by making fun of anyone on the Right.
It was a transparent attempt and failed at my house.

Sad that humor is wasted on some folks.

The point of the rally (besides self promotion and humor) was summed up by Jon Stewart---Can't we disagree without being disagreeable?
IMO, that is a worthy message.
Let me find his exact words............
He decried the "extensive effort it takes to hate" and declared "we can have animus and not be enemies."
Threatening words by a comedian, huh?

From the pictures I've seen, some of the participants weren't taking his advice.

Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert rally today, I couldn't quite figure out the point. The acoustics were so bad also that you could barely hear anything unless you were right by the stage. Straining here and there, I was able to catch a smattering of dialogue but Colbert and Stewart really could not be heard during most of the time in the various locations I was at. Not being able to hear anything didn't seem to bother most of the attendees however, most of whom were wandering around looking at many of the funny (and attempted funny) signs. Not all of the signs were trying to be funny, however. Most of the ire of the angry demonstrators seemed to be directed against Glenn Beck and Fox News. There were also a few anti-Republican signs as well, including at least one of Republican politicians Sarah Palin, John Boehner, and Eric Cantor with Adolph Hitler mustaches alongside conservative talk show hosts Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh.

Did you attend, or are you quoting someone?

Y'all have taken leave of your senses if you believe that Colbert & Stewart BS about disageeing and not being disagreeable.
You don't have a Terrorist loving Islam Yusuf up on you stage, and expect any half way informed person to believe that BS.Last edited on Mon Nov 1st, 2010 12:56 am by Red Oak II

No Red Oak and his Ilk, do not draw Hilter Mustaches on Democrats, carry signs they say Suck my Balls, or ridicule the Founding Traditions of the USA. When you ridicule the Founding Tradtions of this Country, you may expect me to become disagreeable. When your have the like of Islam Yusuf up on your stage, you can expect me to be disagreeable.
And they can protest me, or what others like me think any time they want. I will return the same.
I am only pointing out the fact that the Comedy Central Buffoons are Rank Hypocrites.

What did Islam Yusuf (Cat Stevens) do to make you so angry with him? I heard he is a school teacher and former singer??

But Hitler parodies and mustaches on Obama are A-OK? Dude your mentality is the whole point. Restore sanity. Get it? Well, probably not. Last edited on Mon Nov 1st, 2010 01:28 am by Treehugger
