From a letter to the editor in the Star-Telegram:
"I don't know about you folks, but I'm from east Dallas, and the thought of our sad-sack Texas Rangers going to the World Freaking Series is, frankly, frightening. It's a violation of some kind of fundamental law of nature. When they won the pennant, I expected the Earth to open up and swallow the ballpark. But if they win the World Series? Gravity will stop working, or swarms of rubber-eating locusts will descend and devour all the underwear elastic in the world, or I don't know what. It's scary."
