So, what was wrong with Chris?
The Kodiak guys only made 20k when the boat pulled in over 1 million? All the other boats paid 45K or more.
What was Josh's final tally? did they leave him taped there until Opie season? LOL

They never said what was wrong with Chris. Only that he was being sent to a hospital in Anchorage.
I think the money works as follows: 50% goes to the boat owner. 25% to the captain but I think he shares in some of the expenses.
Remaining 25% is split among the crew. But I think greenhorns get a reduced share or paid by the hour.
Some of the crews pulled in 45 to 50k. Not bad for 2 months work.

Junior is one heck of a fisherman. I don't like the quest for legendary status by working your crew to death, but they do make good money!
Elliott on the other hand...... first class jerk.

Something I noticed this year. Very little about Jake Anderson. The last couple of seasons they were building him up as a key theme. Nothing this year. The only mention was that he was getting engaged.
And they did the obligatory flashback to Captain Phil. Let him rest in peace.

+1
Jake and Josh have shown they have no business running a boat. At least Josh will work.... Jake just seems like he's a slacker.
Opie season should be interesting. I read that they had the worst ice flow they've had in a long time. the captains were petitioning to extend the season.

On Tuesday's night show, their was a quick reference by Keith talking about the King Crab season, saying he had to "medivac a drunk off the ship." I'm assuming that was referring to Chris. Sounds like he had the DTs when he went into convulsions.
Ophillio season is going to be a nightmare will all the ice.

I don't understand the "drunken" statement either. From what I read, Chris has a family history of seizures.
Will Junior be going out at all?
Travis was dang lucky they were able to get him out. On the other hand, it seemed like those guys didn't know what to do. The Harris brothers seem clueless - Josh just stood there and watched; Jake is already slacking off on the F/V Northwestern.
I read where Elliott's baby's mama filed an injunction against him for harrassment. She said he called something like 58 times and then started threatening her. Kado made a good move to get off that boat.

rather boring episode Tuesday. SOS, Lynn is in a daze on the deck.
Maybe it just doesn't come across on TV, but it doesn't seem like it would be that hard to throw the hook. Maybe we can't see just how much the boat is pitching and just how fast they are going?

Last week was pretty boring. The story line needs to pick up a little. They went through the ice and storm of the century. Should be something better. Or start telling the truth about Elliot -- a big jerk.
Throwing the hook has to be harder than it looks. Too many misses on all the crews.

Last night's show was better. The ships fighting the ice was good stuff.

agreed.
I think Josh will be OK going back to the Cornelia, Jake......notsomuch.
In the clip for next week, we saw a clip of a huge chunk of ice taking out a deck hand. Was that the Time Bandit? It sounds like Fortner yelling "Man down"
Did you happen to catch After The Catch? They had Chris (greenhorn from Keith's boat), they didn't bring up Keith's comment about "I had to Medi-vac a drunk".
If Jonothan hurt his back jumping up and down, why the heck did he try and ride a steer?

Caught after the catch too. Jonathon broke 4 ribs riding a steer. I guess those guys think they are invincible.
It looks like Jake is back on drugs. Can't wake up, always moving real slow. He is gonna end up homeless on the side a road some day.

I thought last Tuesday's show was pretty good. The ice must have been bad for these guys to go home. The captains are bad asses. They don't run from anything, except the ice.
And After the Catch was good. Finally met Elliot's owner. And the other captains stood up for Elliot telling the owner to leave him alone when he is out fishing. Still waiting for the showdown between Elliot and his girlfriend. I'm guessing she wouldn't sign off any kind of release.
There was a teaser about Jake Harris and his drug use. Waiting for that to unfold.
