I sometimes wonder where I got all the energy I had back in the 70's & 80's. I was not living in Dallas, but I had a good 15 year + plus run up there in the evenings. A good bit of that time was spent running from one end of Greenville Ave to the other.
One of those stops was: Bowley & Wilson, last time I checked for their website it was not up -- just found it up now.

You're talking about Up Your Alley. Went there New Year's Eve '78. We slid home, then woke up the next morning freezing my tail off because power was out, pretty much city-wide.

I saw John last weekend. He re-wrote the lyrics to Lucy for the Ben Wheeler Hog Festival. I haven't heard them, but I can imagine.
B&W;'s own place is now that Baker's Ribs there on Greenville, but I saw them first at Up Your Alley. We were 19, most of us had never been east of Six Flags, and I'd never seen SMU sorority girls before. We stayed till last call, and I drove home with a shower of sparks coming from my '74 Monte Carlo. Like an idiot I'd parked on that incline there on Yale, and set my parking brake - which was still on all the back to Ft. Worth.
BTW...the burgers at Milo's are maybe better than ever. Ate there last week.
