"Everyone got red t-shirts, jeans, and kilts for your Jonathan Papelbon costumes Wednesday night ??"

I do not believe that will pass muster in these parts, Missy!:hissley:

He represented Red Sox Nation quite well, don't you think? He is an unusual young man....with his stuff, I would make him a starter.

Tonight's WBBS Management Serenade Selection is Cool Change from Little River Band :

If there's one thing in my life that's missing
It's the time that I spend alone
Sailing on the cool and bright clear water
Lots of those friendly people
And they're showing me ways to go
And I never want to lose their inspiration

It's time for a cool change
I know that it's time for a cool change
Now that my life is so prearranged
I know that it's time for a cool change

Well I was born in the sign of water
And it's there that I feel my best
The albatross and the whales they are my brothers
It's kind of a special feeling
When you're out on the sea alone
Staring at the full moon like a lover

Time for a cool change
I know that it's time for a cool change
Now that my life is so prearranged
I know that it's time for a cool change

I've never been romantic
And sometimes I don't care
I know it may sound selfish
But let me breathe the air
Let me breathe the air.....

( sax solo )

If there's one thing in my life that's missing
It's the time that I spend alone
Sailing on the cool and bright clear water
It's kind of a special feeling
When you're out on the sea alone
Staring at the full moon like a lover

Time for a cool change
I know that it's time for a cool change
Now that my life is so prearranged
I know that it's time for a cool change

Yes it is
Yes it is
Yes it is

Time for a cool, cool change.....

Indeed I did. Manny is a strange guy but I love his sense of humor! He would do well to talk to the press more and be more visible.

Longhorns did look good, notso? O.K., let's change that to, "they looked really good when they needed to."  It is better to be great late, than to shine early. (read that in Denver paper regarding Elway.)

Greetings, Nite Owls !! :shades:

Went to the Hallmark Open House event at the mall today.  There were good deals on boxed cards and wrapping paper ( which I needed ) and on some ornaments & such ( which I did not need, but really, really lusted after  ).  Got some cute paper & lovely Southwest-themed cards.

Oh, and there is a David Ortiz ornament !! :dude:  I'll eventually talk myself into buying that one.

Macy's was pretty much decorated for Christmas; I loved it.  Now if only the weather will cooperate.  If it gets dark by 6:00, shouldn't it feel cooler already ?? :soso:

You may indeed use it, especially since I have stolen many words and phrases in the past.

Glad you enjoyed the Hallmark event. I get tickled watching women vs. men and Christmas cards.....women look for and find the "cute Southwest-themed" cards, etc., while guys will buy anything with a duck or a deer on it and call it a day.

"But you didn't even read it," - words spoken to me when I had chose a particular box of cards.....guys don't mean any harm and we appreciate the time and sentiment.

I like to find the snarkiest, snottiest cards out there. It is so much fun to imagine the groans when my freinds and relatives read them.

Don't mind the cold; hate the dry.  I've used more Clinique lotion in the past two weeks than I have the past two months............... :soso:

It's not exactly what NK requested, but "Autumn Leaves" just loses too much in translation without the exquisite trilling piano, so here are Simon & Garfunkel with tonight's WBBS Management Serenade Selection, A Hazy Shade Of Winter :

Time, time, time
See what's become of me
While I look around for my possibilities
I was so hard to please

Look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

Hear the Salvation Army band
Down by the riverside
There's bound to be a better ride
Than what you've got planned
Carry your cup in your hand

Look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

Hang on to your hopes, my friends
That's an easy thing to say
But if your hopes should pass away
Simply pretend
That you can build them again

Look around
The grass is high
The fields are ripe
It's the springtime of my life

Seasons change with the scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry
Won't you stop and remember me
At any convenient time

Funny how my memory skips
Looking over manuscripts
Of unpublished rhyme
Drinking my vodka and lime

I look around
Leaves are brown
And the sky is a hazy shade of winter

Look around
Leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground

Look around
Leaves are brown
There's a patch of snow on the ground
