Macy's was pretty much decorated for Christmas; I loved it.  Now if only the weather will cooperate.  If it gets dark by 6:00, shouldn't it feel cooler already ?? :soso:

I can't wait to get to Vegas to see it done up for Christmas.

It's been about 12 years since I've been there at Christmastime, but it is pretty darn spectacular. :shades:

We were there in 2000. The same timeframe we are going this year, two days after Thanksgiving. Monday morning, most of the casinos start putting up their stuff (if they haven't already).

Greetings, Nite Owls !! :shades:

Seasons change with the scenery
Weaving time in a tapestry

Two of my favorite lines in all of pop music..........

Look for "California Dreamin' " soon at a theatre near you.  No, wait ---- that's not right.  Stay tuned, though.

Temp at trash-taking-out time was very pleasant; not stuffy like last night.

Any interesting weekend plans ?? My mom & I are thinking of going to the Greek Food Festival for lunch.  And dessert.  And dancing demos.  Did I mention baklava ??

I was blessed with a Greek next-door-neighbor when I was in 2nd & 3rd grade......oh, the food !! And the costumes when relatives visited !!  Her daughter had a crush on Davy Jones, as I recall.  I was a few years too young.

Greetings, Nite Owls !! :shades:

A wonderful lunch was had at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church today :

~ Moussaka ( eggplant, potatoes, zucchini, parmesan cheese, & bechamel sauce )

~ roll ( ever-so-slightly sweet )

~ salad ( Feta was in big chunks so I could avoid them; rest of salad was yummy )

~ Spanakopita ( spinach & cheese in filo dough; DANG, that was good !! )

~ green beans

~ lemony rice

~ iced tea with many refills

Looked at lots of pretty jewelry, much of which reminded me of what I saw almost every day in Turkey.  Also got to hear some music on the stage.  Didn't stay long enough to see the dancing.

We got there around 10:45 a.m. and the overflow parking lot ( at nearby North Side High School ) was almost empty.  There's a van shuttle that runs back & forth every 5 minutes or so.  That lot was full ( as well as the streets ) by the time we left around 12:45.  So I suspect early is good.

Festival goes through tomorrow, here's the Menu page of the Festival site :

http://www.fortworthgreekfestival.com/Menu.htm

Of course I brought some baklava home.......

Tonight's WBBS Management Serenade Selection ( by request ) is California Dreamin' by The Mamas & The Papas :

All the leaves are brown
And the sky is gray
I went for a walk
On a winter's day
I'd be safe and warm
If I was in L.A.

California dreamin'
On such a winter's day

I stopped into a church ( stopped into a church )
I passed along the way ( passed along the way )
You know, I got down on my knees ( got down on my knees )
And I pretend to pray ( I pretend to pray )
Oh, the preacher likes the cold ( preacher likes the cold )
He knows I'm gonna stay ( knows I'm gonna stay )

Oh, California dreamin' ( California dreamin' )
On such a winter's day

All the leaves are brown ( the leaves are brown )
And the sky is gray ( and the sky is gray )
I went for a walk ( I went for a walk )
On a winter's day ( on a winter's day )
If I didn't tell her ( if I didn't tell her )
I could leave today ( I could leave today )

Oh, California dreamin' ( California dreamin' )
On such a winter's day ( California dreamin' )

On such a winter's day ( California dreamin' )

On such a winter's day ( California dreamin')

On such a winter's day

Alas, the baklava is gone.............. :frown:

Speaking of leaves and their colors, the crape myrtles are starting to turn & shed.  It's lovely to walk through a carpet of pink & yellow leaves in the yard.  Many of the neighborhood pear trees are starting to change color, too.

Took 2 teams out today with the 4 wheelers. Still not enough snow to take sleds out. Jan and I on her big 4 wheeler with 12 dogs and Trey and her girlfriend Kara on the small one with 6 dogs. The new business partners that we had packed up and left when we told them they weren't running enough dogs and needed to step it up a bit. She was too concerned with running HER dogs and not Jans. We went 6 miles and they looked pretty good though for early season.

Oh, those are gorgeous, Star !!  They'd be worth waiting for Dial-Up to load.  Fortunately, I no longer have to do that.

Welcome, welcome, Cold Front !!! Please feel free to linger a few days and enjoy our hospitality.

IEBYTR : 49° Felt really nice, and the ever-increasing carpet of multicolored leaves was just lovely.
