We barely have cold here.  It rarely lasts more than a few days when it does hit.  We hardly even had winter last year.

Go one state north and the deep-freeze lingers for weeks at a time...........

I know, I spent ONE winter, and only one in southern Indiana..........I NEVER wanna go north again in winter.
It can just be so much worse than what I went through.

Shall I regale you with tales of snowdrifts higher than the roof of the house when I was in first grade ??  Back then, I loved it ---- all the fun of playing in the snow with no inconveniences like scraping the windshield & shoveling.

Yahoo music ?? Is it downloads, or what ??

Greetings, Nite Owls !! :shades:

Dangit, my Upstate New York Snow Regalement I thought I saved got lost forever in one of the many KMC Thread Decimations this year !!!

It'll take me a day or three to reconstruct.............

Meanwhile, NK will be thrilled to see this :

IEBYTR : 39° Very still, fragrance of fireplaces, lovely leaves on the ground.

Speaking of which, the little girls across the street were playing in the piles of leaves in their front yard this afternoon !!!  Oh, I miss those days.

I think it's time to bring this Ode To Humidity back :

Ninja Kat wrote: I'm from the more southern part of Texas.  In the summer, when you go outside, it feels like a hot, damp, full body hug.  You have to have great lungs to pull the humidity in to take a breath.  There is always a slight breeze to keep the air from drowning you, you have no allergies, and body in yer hair from the humidity.

Ahhh................so true; so eloquent.  I'm missing southeastern Virginia even as I type.

Which brings us to Orange Soup ---- when the air inside is so dry that one feels like an experiment in static electricity ( ), one must combat the elements and keep something simmering on the stove to add moisture.  Plain water will work, but when one adds orange and/or lemon peel and/or cloves, the aroma is most pleasant.

I'll work on a Summer song or two for the weekend.

Tonight's WBBS Management Serenade Selection is Summer Song by Chad & Jeremy ( sometimes known as The Redcoats  ) :

Trees swayin' in the summer breeze
Showin' off their silver leaves
As we walked by

Soft kisses on a summer's day
Laughing all our cares away
Just you and I

Sweet sleepy warmth of summer nights
Gazing at the distant lights
In the starry sky

They say that all good things must end someday
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you

Wish you didn't have to go
No no no no

And when the rain
Beats against my window pane
I'll think of summer days again
And dream of you

They say that all good things must end someday
Autumn leaves must fall
But don't you know that it hurts me so
To say goodbye to you

Wish you didn't have to go
No no no no

And when the rain
Beats against my window pane
I'll think of summer days again
And dream of you

And dream of you

I put a pan of water on the stove to simmer and add in a few drops of essential oils. Mmm. Here is a list of what I have. Most of them are for henna but they all smell wonderful.

Lavender
Eucalyptus
Naoli
Cajaput
Orange Bergamot
Wild Thyme
Rosemary
Geranium Bourbon
