Finished Extreme Measures last night....going to swing by the store on the way home and pick up Pursuit of Honor, it is part two of Extreme Measures.

So far I have really like all the Vince Flynn books, wish I would have read them in order, but oh well.

After Pursuit of Honor, there in two in the middle that I need to read and will have read the entire series.

I suggest that you read them in order ( my brain demands that I must, but to some, it doesn't seem as crucial........ ).  There's a chronological list on this page :

I have heard that also.

Stoli, on your recommendation, I picked up the first Vince Flynn novel in paperback.  I am acquiring the rest via my nook.

Great read, thanks for the heads up!

Glad you liked it.....they just get better and better from there on.

It doesn't make that big of difference, but make sure to read them in order.

Library has already ordered Brad Thor's Foreign Influence; I'm 11th on the waiting list.

David Baldacci has probably been mentioned on the board sometime / somewhere, but I'm too tired to look. ;)  Who here has read him ??  Thoughts and opinions, please......

I am waiting to get the latest Flynn book in paperback, it comes out in august.
I gave all the other Flynn books to the VA hospital library when I was done with them.

Also have "Consent to Kill" at the house, which is the book that the movie is going to be based on.

They are talking to Brad Pitt about playing Mitch Rapp...which I think is a mistake, apparently Vince wants Gerard Butler to play the role, which I think is a much better call....nothing against Brad, but Gerard fits the part MUCH better INHO.

I agree that Butler would be a better Mitch. Who know's Pitt might be alright too.

So long as it isn't Cruise or Leonardo DiCaprio.

Agreed.....I think Pitt could pull it off, but I think it would be a very natural role for Butler, he is a lot more rough around the edges then Pitt.

NO, NO, a 1000 times no to Cruise or DiCaprio.

I think Russel Crowe could pull it off also, but I still really like Butler for the part.

Matthew McConaughey wouldn't be a bad choice either.

I'd vote for Russell or Gerry over the others mentioned.....

I'm in the middle of David Baldacci's Absolute Power; lots of stuff happening !! :shades:  Need to get his 2nd & 3rd at the library soon ---- I really like being able to pick up the next book in a series as soon as I've finished one.

I actually started reading "Consent to Kill" last night instead of "Third Option".

One thing I LOVE about the Flynn books is that they get up and running in a hurry.

When I got to page 30....Mitch Rapp was about to already kill a terrorist.

About 3/4 of the way through "Consent to Kill", should finish it tonight sitting out by the pool for a couple of hours.

Going to start "Third Option" after that.

I am a little over half way through "Consent to Kill", I was a little worried about it, not to bad, was thinking "They are basing the movie on this one?"....I stand corrected, it is good and now it is getting REALLY good...300 pages to go and for Mitch Rapp to FUBAR as many terrorist as possible.

I can see know why they want to base the movie on this one.....have a feeling all hell is about to break loose in last 250-300 pages.

Hey Stoli, Orphie said your previous "Favorite Author" was Dr. Seuss. Is that right?

Shouldn't you be out playing in traffic or sucking on the exhaust pipe of a DART bus?
